Falardeau and Poulin built him in the wake of the 1980 referendum as a caricature of the colonised mind, a Québécois man so thoroughly sold on America that he can no longer locate himself. He performs as Elvis in a rented suit and calls it making it. It was meant as satire and landed as prophecy, which is the usual fate of satire that is too accurate. He became one of the most recognised characters in Quebec cinema. Everyone knew somebody. For people who got the joke and then stopped laughing. Falardeau built him to be despised, and Quebec adopted him instead.

An Elvis Gratton graphic tee for Québécois film fans, satire readers, and anyone who has watched a culture perform somebody else's. The pompadour, the jowls and the rhinestone-studded collar, over a signature-style wordmark. A gift for Quebec cinema fans, Montrealers, and students of borrowed identity.

Three days to the Plateau. Packaging was minimal, which I like.
